Core Values

The Core Values of Cathey Construction & Development are to define and govern every aspect of our business. They are the baseline that all members of our team are to understand and live by.

Motto: There is no "I" in TEAM, but there is "integrity"!

TEAM / / noun: Defined as a group of two or more harnessed together for the accomplishment of a common goal.

There are three key elements that define a team. If any one of these three are lacking then a "team" does not exist.

  • Group: As builders we must always remember that our business is dependent upon the work of others. A single individual can accomplish very little alone, but a number of individuals united together can move mountains.

  • Harnessed: Individuals must be united together by understanding what the goal is and committing to the part they play in attaining it. As with oxen, all teams must be equally yoked. That is, all parts of the team must pull with similar strength, and they must be matched to a load they can handle.

  • Common Goal: A true "team" can only pull in one direction, therefore it is imperative that all pull the same way or they end up just working against each other. Each individual must see the direction the team is going, and remain committed to the end result.
INTEGRITY / / noun: Defined as a firm adherence to a set of moral values.

Integrity is a broad descript that should be viewed as our "moral compass". It is requisite that we as individuals and as a company live, maintain, and conduct business under a moral conviction to adhere to right rather than wrong even when no one is looking. In upholding integrity, we have a duty to be fair, honest, sincere, straightforward, and to always treat others as we would want to be treated.
